UKARA

UKARA stands for the (United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association), who act as a national body to provide a registered database of active airsoft skirmishers (players), as well as airsoft retail stores and registered sites. By registering active players on their national database, its a reliable way of providing airsofters with a legitimate and legal method of buying ‘Realistic Imitation Firearms’ (RIF’s) for airsoft purposes from airsoft retailers within the UK.

There is no "UKARA licence" or "License" within Airsoft.

UKARA is a database of registered players of whom all have a legitimate reason for purchasing a Realistic Imitation Firearms (RIF's) from a retailer and who attends regular Airsoft games at various participating game sites across the UK. Each player is registered to a specific game site, normally the one they play at regularly, and to which they made the original application to be added to the database. Players are required to be 18 years of age or over to apply for UKARA registration.

HOW TO APPLY FOR UKARA REGISTRATION THROUGH SIXMIL AIRSOFT :

It is the players responsibility to prove that they have attended 3 or more skirmish events at our site in not less than 2 months, and within a 12 month period. To do this we ask that if you wish to apply to be UKARA registered player at SIXMIL you collect a UKARA application form from our site on your first game. Please ask at the site reception building for a UKARA form, or print off a UKARA form using the link at the bottom of this page.

Once you have this form please fill in the requested information and hand it to one of our staff at the reception building when booking in on the game day. This way a member of staff can counter sign and add each date the player attended the site to the rear of the form. That way on your third game our staff can immediately see the dates of the 3 games you attended, and see that a appointed member of staff has signed your form to confirm this. This will allow us to process your application properly and in a timely manner.

When a player has their UKARA form with 3 game dates signed, they will also need to bring with them and show the site owner 2 forms of ID. 1 official photo ID such as driving licence or passport etc, and 1 second form of ID with the players name and address such as a recent bank statement or utility bill for proof of address to register their UKARA. Proof of ID needs to be shown face to face with the site owner on a game day, this cannot be done via email or message.

When this criteria is met the site owner adds the players personal details and marks the player as "active" on the UKARA database and that player will be issued a UKARA number directly from UKARA. The database will then automatically send the player (and game site) an email to confirm this and the players unique UKARA number.

Please be aware that it is the players responsibility to ask for a UKARA form and have the form signed and dated on the day they play. SIXMIL Airsoft will not back date a players UKARA form or look through hundreds of player waiver forms to find dates a player has played due to the time it takes. Should a player state they have played 3 times but do not have a UKARA form with 3 game dates played with signatures on the back of the form, SIXMIL Airsoft will not be able process their UKARA application. This rule also covers a player who states they have lost their form UKARA form.

WHAT IS UKARA?

WHAT HAPPENS THEN?

Once you receive your unique UKARA reference number, you can use your reference number to prove to Airsoft retailers that you are a reguler airsoft skirmisher (player), and have a legal defence under the UK Goverment’s VCRA agreement to purchase RIF’s for the purpose of airsoft skirmishing.

SIXMIL Airsoft is a UKARA registered Airsoft site.
